As an Orlando native, I understand the thrill of rides and park parades. However, Orlando is known as โ€œThe City Beautifulโ€ for a reason!

In recent years, Orlando has really grown its local-first community. While chain restaurants and quick attractions still exist, the city really emphasizes small businesses and local restaurants. 

That said, here are the best things to do in Orlando besides theme parks.

1. Get Into Nature

Orlando is blessed with beautiful weather and an abundance of natural beauty, making it the perfect place to immerse yourself in the great outdoors. 

Outside of man-made activities like Disney World or Universal Studios, youโ€™ll find that Orlando has so many outdoor activities waiting to be enjoyed.ย 

State parks like Wekiwa Springs and Blue Spring offer stunning natural landscapes and a variety of activities. You can spend a day kayaking down the crystal-clear waters, where you might spot manatees and other wildlife.
