Work With Me

Get to know me

looking to work with travel blogger? Alanna from Periodic Adventures can create short form video content for TikTok and Reels, photos, and blog posts.

Hi there, I’m Alanna, the recent PhD grad, scientist, and hyper-planner behind Periodic Adventures. Welcome to my partnership page! Allow me to introduce myself, my blog, and my readers!

I’ve been traveling since I was a small kid, and once I entered the adult world, I figured out how to keep traveling even though my college student budget and schedule were protesting. Luckily, I’m VERY good about figuring out the details. I planned my first trip sans-parents and never looked back!

Periodic Adventures is a hub for inexperienced travelers and those that simply do not have the time to research and create successful travel plans. I love to make travel planning more accessible with detailed itineraries, step-by-step planning resources, and helpful advice. You’ll also find my love of music and science throughout with a background track for each post and fun, scientific facts interwoven to tell a full story of each destination.

I started Periodic Adventures in 2018 when I started graduate school. Since then, Periodic Adventures has grown to reach 300,000+ enthusiastic and engaged readers, subscribers, and followers annually.

I’ve been traveling a LONG TIME so I’ve learned a lot of valuable, practical info that I love to share.

Who is my audience?

My typical reader is a young woman aged 18-35 living in the USA. She is in college (or grad school), so she travels on a budget.

She’s not really interested in nightlife, but instead food, sight-seeing, and hard-earned relaxation. She loves exploring destinations by squeezing in lots of activities in a short amount of time to maximize the experience, but also taking it slow when she can because she is a bit tired from the daily grind.

…and she’s a bit of a nerd. She loves pop culture and science and won’t shy away from vacations that can include those things.

What my audience loves to read

I specialize in highly detailed long-form blog posts that pack in a ton of value for my readers. My goal is to provide the best advice for visiting a destination, whether that’s a city, country, or specific experience.

My audience comes to Periodic Adventures for the details. Here are some of the umbrellas of content that are most popular and the ones I write most often:

  • Travel itineraries: My goal is to share my recommended itinerary based on my own travels. These include budget breakdowns, daily activities, recommended restaurants and places to stay, and the logistics to make the travel planning process easier.
  • Planning guides: Travel planning is overwhelming but it seriously doesn’t have to be. I love sharing the nitty gritty details about how exactly I plan my trips and how even the most inexperienced traveler can set themselves up for success. These are tailored to help with a specific travel planning problem, whether that’s budgeting for a trip, creating your own itinerary, or figuring out what the best activities are in a location.
  • Experience highlights: The experiences and activities that you spend all day doing are worth covering in depth. Think museum guides, unforgettable experiences, specific day trips, etc…and yes, if science is relevant, I will weave it in because it’s just so dang cool!
  • Budget travel: Since my readers are 18-35, that means most of them are still figuring out how to be adults and how to manage their budgets. Some are still learning the ropes. Others might have a budget laid out but they still want value for their money (who doesn’t?)
